Struga is a town of poetry. It hosts the "The Struga Poetry Nights", which is an elite global poetry festival.
Struga is located on the northern side of the Ohrid Lake, where river Crni Drim flows out of the lake. There are Neolithic remains as well as Roman monuments in the town. A special attraction is the unique museum, Dr. Nikola Nezlobinski, where stuffed animals and birds from the Ohrid region can be seen. Some rarities are the two-headed veal and the special 16 kg Ohrid trout.
Struga is located at the foothill of the mountains, rich with mountain springs. One of the most attractive is the one at the village Vevcani.
A few kilometres from Struga, in the village of Raqdozda, lie the monastery of Holy Mother of Kalista and the cave church from XIV Century. The cave churches of St. Athanasius and St. Archangel Michael are also located here.
